ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

 

    The Department of Mathematics was established in the year 1966 and grown over the years with PG programme in 1999 and Ph.D. in 2010. The Department is constantly striving to create young women with the quest for mathematical knowledge, logical and analytical thinking over the five decades of its existence, it has also attained the pinnacle of excellence in research. The Department of Mathematics is well known for its academic endeavors, full-fledged research development and intellectual co-curricular activities. The syllabus is exclusively designed on par with the current job trends, incorporated with value-added courses and is being updated periodically with utmost care. The Department provides the students with an innovative and dynamic learning environment for better understanding of the subject. Our Faculty members have extensive experience in teaching and research. A conceptual understanding of the subject and its applications is imparted to the students. The faculty members are very much dedicated to elevate the skills of students by conducting various activities like symposium, seminars, webinars, workshops and conferences. The Department is well-equipped with ICT class rooms and a Math Laboratory with MATLAB2019b. The students bring accolades to the department by participating in various intercollegiate academic competitions, extension activities and sports. The Alumnae of the Department are employed in high profile jobs such as Professors in colleges, CEO of firms, Government Officials and Research Associates abroad.
