    Placement Drive on 09.03.2024

  • The Career Guidance and Placement Cell successfully conducted the placement drive on Saturday, 9th of March 2024 with a short prayer by Dr. Auxilia Antony S and Ms. Kalaivani K, Co-ordinators of the career guidance and placement cell and other organizing committee members of the college. The principal of our college, Dr. Sr. Jaya Santhi R presided over the gathering and greeted the students and the recruiters. Recruiters arrived from various in and around schools of Vellore including Pincushion Montessori International School, D A V Ideal School, Prince Matriculation School, Vivekananda Vidyalaya School and S M S Vimal group of Schools. Recruiters from Delphi T V S Technologies, Make My Trip, Institute of verbal communication, C V E & W D Private Limited, and Kanchi Karpooram Limited were also present to recruit students for their firms. One on one interview session was conducted by each of the recruiters and the students from various departments from our college eagerly participated in the placement drive. About 150 students from Shift I and Shift II were interviewed and 40 students were selected in the round 1 and were further requested to attend the second round of interview in their respective schools and companies by handing over the selection list to Dr. Auxilia Antony, Coordinator, Career Guidance and Placement Cell, Auxilium College (Autonomous) Vellore.

    MAMA MARGARET AWARD

  • The Kanali Women’s Cell of Auxilium College, Vellore, India, annually presents the Mamma Margaret Award on March 8th to honor a woman activist from the Vellore district. This award, named in memory of the mother of Don Bosco, celebrates her role as a source of feminine richness in Don Bosco’s educational philosophy. Mamma Margaret was a pioneer in promoting integral ecology by initiating kitchen gardens in Salesian houses. The award recognizes women who have provided exemplary service to women and children in their communities. This year, the prestigious award was bestowed upon Ms. Deepalakshimi K., a dedicated woman organic Agripreneur and the Founder and CEO of SD Agricultural and Research Foundation in Vellore. She was recognized for her outstanding contributions to organic farming and advocacy for sustainable practices in the agricultural sector. During her acceptance speech, Ms. Deepalakshimi K. emphasized the importance of caring for our common home with dedication and commitment. Over the past twelve years, her organization has worked tirelessly to improve the livelihoods of rural populations by offering agricultural advice, training, and fostering self-employment opportunities. She has also conducted awareness programs on organic farming for students in schools and colleges. Ms. Deepalakshimi’s spirit of service, dedication, and compassion is evident through the numerous awards she has received, including the "Best Young Farmer" award from CNN: News 18 TN, the "Homepreneurs Award" from Brand Avatar Group, and the "Best Young Organic Farmer" award from the APJ Abdul Kalam Trust, among others. She has actively shared her passion for the environment through television and radio interviews, publications, guest lectures, and various agricultural programs organized for society. The Mamma Margaret Award was presented to Ms. Deepalakshimi K. by Dr. (Sr.) Mary Josephine Rani A., Secretary of Auxilium College (Autonomous), Dr. (Sr.) Jayasanthi R., Principal of Auxilium College (Autonomous), and Dr. (Sr.) Arockia Jayaceli, Controller of Examinations, HOD of the Department of Tamil, and Coordinator of the Kanali Women’s Cell. The Kanali Women’s Cell of Auxilium College serves as a beacon of guidance and inspiration, motivating young women to empower themselves and contribute meaningfully to society and the global community.

    GENDER EQUALITY (2024)

  • The Department of Social Work and Kanali Women’s Cell Auxilium College vellore , in collaboration with ARUWYE Development Office of Salesian Sisters, organized a one- day State-level S eminar on Gender Equality on International Women"s Day, March 8th, 2024, at Sr. Antanet Library Hall, Auxilium College, V ellore. The event saw active participation from 130 students from Auxilium College and various other colleges. The primary object ive of the workshop was to raise awareness and stimulate discussions on the significance of gender equality in society, with sessions focusin g on key themes related to this topic. The workshop commenced with the registration process, followed by an inaugural ceremony graced by the presence of Dr. (Sr.) Jayasanthi R, Principal of Auxilium, Dr. (Sr.) Arokia Jayaceli A, Controller of Examinations, organizers, and distinguished guests. Participan ts were warmly welcomed, underscoring the importance of gender equality and elucidating the workshop"s objectives. Sr. Mary Josephine Isabella, Director of the Development Office of Salesian Sisters, Chennai, addressed various facets of Gender Equality, emphasizing the imperative for equal rights, combating societal stereotypes, and removing barriers to ensure equitable educational opportunities. The first session featured Mrs. Sumathi Kabilan, Advocate and Senior Executive Member of the Women Advocate Association, Vellore. She delivered an engaging session on Gender and Work, shedding light on wor kplace challenges stemming from gender biases and discrimination, and advocating for equal opportunities for all genders. The subsequent session was conduct ed by Prof. Thirumaran, Head of the Department of Defense and Strategic Studies, Voohrees College, Vellore. He led a thought-provoking dis cussion on gender and education, emphasizing the importance of equal access to education for all genders and strategizing ways to foster inclusive educ ational environments. Following the lunch break, Dr. Vijayalakshmi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Botany at Queen Mary’s College, Chennai, co nducted an informative session on Gender and Environment. Through engaging sessions and meaningful discussions, participants gained insights into various asp cts of gender equality. The workshop aimed to inspire individuals to challenge gender stereotypes, foster inclusivity, and take proactive measures towards cr eating a society where everyone is treated with dignity and respect, irrespective of gender.

    INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

  • Department of Business Administration observed the International Women’s Day on 08 th March 2024 in collaboration with Vedham’s Academy. Dr. Narmadha S, Consultant Pediatrician and Director , Nalam Medical Centre and Hospital was the chief guest. She addressed the gathering on the UN theme Invest in women, accelerate progress. Rev. Dr. Sr. Mary Josephine Rani, Secretary, Rev. Dr. Sr. Jaya Santhi R, Principal, Dr. Sr. Sagaya Mary, Director Management Studies were present and greeted the gathering. Dr. Preethi Prabhakaran, Head and Assistant Professor, Department of BBA(Hospital Administration) welcomed the gathering. During the programme, the Department signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Indian Medical Association, Vellore and T.I.P.S. Academy, Vellore as a part of Industry Institution Collaboration. Vrusta Entertainment Rock in Boyz Band hosted a musical entertainment. Ms. Andy, Celebrity joined as a special invitee during the music show. The programme concluded with the valedictory session. Ms.Ruby R, Special Sub Inspector, Tirupattur Tk and Ms. Leah Judith, Director, Sam’s Lingua Centre, Coimbatore were the chief guests. Ms. Leah Judith was honoured with the Fempreneur Award in event of the International Women’s Day. Dr.Chandhana K and Dr. Uma Mageswari S were the hosts of the events. A cancer awareness bus from Adyar Cancer Institute showcasing the different types of cancers, treatments and lifestyle changes that can prevent cancer was arranged in the campus. All the students visited the bus and were given awareness on the symptoms, causes and effects of cancers. Ms. Srirpiya Sa, Assistant Professor from the Department of BBA(Hospital Adminsitration) and Ms. Madumalathi, Assistant Professor from the Department of Biochemistry coordinated the visit. The LED Panel installed near the Arts Block was inaugurated by Mr. Kulandei Francis, Integrated Village Development Programme on 08 th March 2024. Rev. Dr. Sr. Mary Jospehine Rani, Secretary and Rev.Dr. Sr. Jaya Santhi R, Principal, graced the occasion with their presence amidst the student gathered.

    THE CAMPAIGN ON INDIAN CONSTITUTION

  • In our Endeavour to foster democratic engagement and civic Participation , Department of History organized a Campaign on Indian Constitution was organized to raise awareness about the Election and Indian Constitution the Department of History in collaboration with All India Catholic University Association Federation (AICUF). Rev. Dr. G. Victor Roch SJ, Assistant Professor, Loyola College, Chennai and Fr. Berkmans Kasparaj SJ, Principal, Loyola ITI, Ranipet were the Resource persons. Dr. Sr.Sumathi, Head, Department of History along with the faculty members organized the campaign for constitutional awareness with the aim of educating students about the Indian constitution, its significance, the rights and responsibilities as citizens. The street play was meticulously crafted to resonate with students to address pertinent issues relevant to the electoral process. The play emphasized the significance of each role in shaping the future of our country and highlighted the rights and responsibilities of the students in democratic system. The interaction between Fr.G.Victor Roch and student facilitated meaningful conversation and fostering a sense of collective responsibility towards democracy. The plays served as a powerful tool for promoting election awareness, civic engagement and strengthen the foundations of democracy. The campaign for constitutional awareness served as the valuable platform for empowering students to have a clear deep understanding about choosing a capable, unbiased, powerful leader of the nation. The campaign encouraged the students to actively participate in the democratic process of 2024 General Elections which is to be held between April and May 2024.The campaign received overwhelming appreciation among the students and staff members.

    Programme: Workshop on “Get set Go – to become an entrepreneur”

  • Students of II BBA (Hospital Administration), attended a workshop on “Get set Go – to become an entrepreneur” organised by Incubation Council of Crescent University, Chennai. Students visited Intel labs, Molecular Biology lab, Sterilisation room and many such facilities provided by the college for entrepreneurs. Dr. Preethi Prabhakaran, Ms. Sripriya Sa and Dr. Chandhana K, accompanied the students. The visit enriched the students on Innovation and how to proceed further.

    STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAMME to ALBERTS COLLEGE, COCHIN

  • The Department of Business Administration along with 95 MBA students and 5 faculty members Dr. Beulah Suresh, Dr. M. Balapriya , Dr. L. Bhuvaneswari, Dr. S. Uma Mageswari and Ms.Sathya went for a Student Exchange Programme to Albert’s college, Cochin from 30th January 2024 to 1st February 2024 under Xavier Board of Higher Education . The students were animated with various activities by the faculty members of Albert’s college. Cultural programme were also performed by the students of both the institutions showcasing the state culture The students visited the National Coir Board Research Centre and Museum were they gained knowledge on the process of making coir from scratch. This youth exchange programme was an informative and educative one.

  • PG Department of Computer Science, Auxilium College (Autonomous), Gandhi Nagar, Vellore in association with Research Ethics, Publication & IPR, Auxilium College(Autonomous), Vellore organized a One-Day State-Level Workshop on AI TOOLS(DST FIST FUNDED) on 12th February 2024. Dr. Sr. Jaya Santhi R., Principal, Auxilium College, Dr. Sugantha Kumari V., Dean of Research and IPR and Dr. Lavanya S., Head, PG Dept. of Computer Science inaugurated the workshop. Around 50 UG,PG and M.Phil Research scholars from various educational institutions attended the workshop. It had been an insightful workshop comprising of sessions on several AI Tools like Chat GPT, Google Bard, Quillbot, Grammarly, Video making AI Tools, Image creating AI Tools.The workshop was productive and enhanced the knowledge of students helping them pave their path towards better future.

  • PG and Research Department of Mathematics in association with the Committee for Research Ethics, Publications ; IPR, organized the State level workshop – Hands-on training on MATLAB (DST FIST funded) on 12.02.2024. 40 participants (PG students Ph.D., scholars) benefitted through the Hands-on training session. The resource persons were Dr. R. Jothilakshmi, Assistant Prof. & Head, PG &Research Dept. of Mathematics, Mazharul Uloom College, Ambur, and Dr. K. Kalaivani, Assistant Professor (Senior), Dept. of Mathematics, School of Advanced Sciences, VIT, Vellore.

    Cervical Cancer Awareness Programme

  • Cervical Cancer Awareness Programme The Department of BBA(Hospital Administration) in association with Indian Medical Association, Vellore conducted a Cervical Cancer Awareness Programme on 07th February 2024. Dr. Narmada S, Pediatrician and Director, Nalam medical center and Hospital, President IMA Vellore, Dr. Manigandan, Consultant Physician, PM Medical Center, Walajah, Hon. Secretary, IMA Vellore and DR.Anitha.N, Consultant Gynecologist, Kumaran Hospital were the speakers who enlightened the gathered students of BBA, BBA(HA) and B.Com on cervical cancer symptoms, diagnosis and treatment. The programme concluded with question answer session.

    75th Republic Day

  • The Department of History along with NCC wing celebrated the 75th Republic Day at Auxilium campus. Dr.(Sr.) Mary Josephine, our college secretary graced us as the Chief Guest. NCC and students from the department of history delivered inspiring speeches, sang about our glorious past and danced patriotically. A huge thanks to the entire team for making this day a memorable !

    National Seminar Recap

  • National Seminar Recap Human rights are not a privilege conferred by any one. They are a human being’s entitlement in virtue of humanity. On 19.12.2023, Auxilium College, Vellore hosted a thought-provoking National Seminar organized by the Department of History in collaboration with the Department of Social Work.The seminar unfolded in 2 sessions:Session One: A deep dive into Human Rights and Women’s Rights, featuring an enlightening talk on Human Rights and Humanity by Dr. Rajaratnam Santhanam, Advocate. Session Two: A dynamic Quiz Contest and Elocution Contest on Human Rights, promoting active engagement. Dr. Jeevanandham , Jawaharlal Nehru University shared insights on Women’s Rights, emphasizing gender equality and the ongoing struggle for women to secure their rights.The event sparked awareness and discussions on the essence of human rights and the journey towards a more just and equal society.

    Inauguration of the Auxilium Innovation and Incubation Centre (AIIC)

  • The inauguration of the Auxilium Innovation and Incubation Centre (AIIC) Block took place on November 24, 2023. The event was marked by a heartfelt prayer service and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Reverend Sr. Devadoss Margaret, Provincial, Chennai Province and Dr. Sr. Mary Josephine Rani, secretary of the college, presided over the event. Reverend Sr. Devadoss Margaret delivered an inspiring inaugural address, urging students to embrace the purpose of AIIC. The center consisting of 14 innovative units was inaugurated during the ceremony. Unit coordinators showcased their projects to the dignitaries. Dr. Sr. Jaya Santhi R, principal, conveyed her greetings. Arokia Jayaceli, Controller of Examinations, Dr. Sr. Amala Valarmathy, and Sr. Juliana Agnes Victor, Vice Principals Shift I and II, encouraged the faculty and students by visiting the various units. Mr. Murali K, Director, Central Footwear Training Institute, Mr. Anubmalar, Director, PA Footwear Pvt. Ltd, Ranipet, and Mr. K.M. Venkatesaen, Advisor, CFTI visited the Centre, appreciated, and congratulated the efforts of the Committee. Kudos to the coordinators Dr. Sr. Sagaya Mary, Dr. Beulah Suresh, Dr. Sugantha Kumari V, Dr. Preethi Prabhakaran, and Dr. Balapriya M for orchestrating this remarkable event.

  • National constitution day was celebrated by the Department of History students, of Auxilium College Vellore-During the assembly today Ms. Kamatchi kannigai Student of Ist History highlighted the History of Indian Constitution day. The students held the charts depicting Quotes on Constitution and the significant parts of the Constitution. Through this they imparted the value of true Democracy .

    ASQC Members Celebrate World Food Day!

  • On 13th October 2023, our ASQC family hosted a spectacular Traditional Food Exhibition to commemorate World Food Day. Both Shift I & II came together to showcase their passion for diverse culinary traditions. 14 ASQC members from Shift I and 6 talented students from Shift II poured their hearts and creativity into the event, making it a true feast for the senses. Around 800 students from both shifts poured in to savor the delicious flavors and explore the unique stalls. The overwhelming support from the management, staff, and fellow students left us truly humbled. Kudos to our ASQC members for promoting organic and healthy food choices! Your dedication to health consciousness is truly inspiring.
