Report of the Activities of Rangers

The motto of the Ranger is “Service”. According to the motto, the Rangers started the academic year 2015-2016 very enthusiastically with full vigour. They started their routine service in the College.  In order to train the rangers two days of workshop was conducted on 25th and 26th July 2015 in Auxilium College Campus. The Subject experts from Chennai and Vellore were invited to animate the students on different aspects of Rangering. Rangering also includes learning from fun and Games and so during the workshop lots of Games and other activities were carried out to help the students to understand and imbibe different life scoping skills. Eleven Rangers along with the Ranger Leader took Part in the Scouting Guiding Expo organized by the Central District, Chennai from 22nd to 29th August 2015. This was another unique opportunity to exhibit their talents and skills. The eleven Rangers gained lots of knowledge and experience from the expo.

The National Rover Ranger Service camp cum workshop on “Swach Bharath and Sundar Bharath” was organized by the National Head Quarters (NHQ), Bharath Scouts and Guides, Pachmarhi, Madhya Pradesh from 14th to 22nd September 2015. Four Rangers and the Ranger Leader Sr. Jaya Shanthi R were chosen to participate in the programme representing Tamil Nadu. Nearly 120 participants represented from different states of India. It was a wonderful and was a platform to learn may aspects of life.  The coming together of  people of varied cultures was the hallmark of the programme. The nine days of stay in the NHQ was a unique experience. The Rovers and Rangers were involved in different activities such as Rally, organizing and implementation of awareness programmes, field works in different neighbouring villages on Swaach Bharat and Sundar Bharat. The All faith prayer and the daily camp fire was a time to learn many values in the multicultural and multi lingual context.

Energy is an important source in our day today life and inorder to give awareness to the public, candle light rally was organized from Chitoor bus stand to katpadi. It was a wonderful exposure to the Rangers.

The Rangers also maintain Discipline in the College Campus during Morning and Afternoon assemblies. During important functions like College day, Sports day, College Inaugurations and Valedictory functions and the Convocation day the rangers give guard of honour to the chief guest besides maintaining discipline and order.
