India – Srilanka Youth Exchange 2016 (22nd July to 30th July)
India – Srilanka Youth Exchange 2016 (Season 2) started on 22nd July when the Srilankan team arrived to India, they were welcomed by Mr. Dhinesh Gajendran, Audacious Dreams Foundation, Dr. Amudha of Auxilium College and by the student volunteers of Auxilium College. Officially it was started with the Support of His Excellency the High Commisoner of Srilanka for South India by hosting a Reception and Networking Evening on the same day of the arrival at High Commission Office.. They stayed in Chennai for two days and visited Marina Beach, Rajiv Gandhi Memorial, Mahabhalipuram and Queens land. On 25th July the team visited the temple city Kanchipuram and then they proceeded to Krishnagiri Dam in the evening and stayed at IVDP, Krishnagiri.. Dr. Beulah Suresh and the student volunteers from Department of Business Administration accompanied the team along with Mr. Dhinesh Gajendran. On 26th July the team had interaction with the Founder and Director of IVDP Mr. Kulandei Francis, Ramon Magsaysay Award Winner on his active contribution to social development. The team visited the villages in Krishnagiri to learn the Integrated Village Development Project(IVDP) the fine model of Self Help Group(SHG) system in India which empowers women to generate livelihood and savings and they also had interaction with SHG women. In the evening the team visited Bargur (Hub for Export Garments) and Ambur, (Export hub of leather goods) and in the night they were accommodated in Golden Temple Guest house, Vellore. On 27th they visited Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore. Asia’s largest Medical college and hospital , Vellore Fort and they enjoyed Kabali Film at Alankar theatre in the evening. On 28th July morning they were invited by APCA and had a session about prison Administration in India and in the afternoon they were hosted by Auxilium College with the traditional welcome and lunch. In the evening a cultural fest was organized with cultural events performed by Auxilium College students and by the Srilankan Volunteers. The chief Guest of the programme was His Excellency the High Commisoner of Srilanka for South India. On 29th the team had a session in VIT along with the Chancellor Mr. G. Vishwanthan and His Excellency the High Commisoner of Srilanka for South India and later they had VIT campus visit. In the afternoon they visited Ambalal stocks and trade and the visited Golden Temple in the evening. On 30th Morning at 5am they left Vellore and boarded their flight at 10am in Chennai Airport. The India Srilanka Youth Exchange Programme is an initiative taken by Audacious dreams Foundation joining hands with Auxilium college to promote healthy relationship among the youth .
