The department of Zoology offers a certificate in “Mother and Child Care”. The course was inaugurated on 15-07-09 by the principal, Dr. (Sr.) Eugini Fathima Mary. She delivered the inaugural address; wherein she spoke on the importance of the child care in today society and the role of a mother in child development.  She congratulated the student for opting course like “Mother and Child Care” and wished them all success.  She expressed hope that an interest in child psychology will initiate an interest in the students take it up for their master’s degree.  The Head of the department of Zoology, Dr. Padmasani, the Co-ordinator  of  the course Dr. (Sr.) Mary Josephine Rani , the members of the faculty and Ms. Thenmozhi the instructor of the course were present for the inauguration.
