To commemorate the 75th year of Quit India Movement, the Department of History from Auxilium College ,Vellore organized a speech by inviting a resource person on 24th August 2017. The Chief Guest of the day is Ms.Sachu Kumari a renounced historian and a committed Headmistress of Government School Asnampet, Mathanoor Block, Vellore District.
Ms.Sachu Kumari was welcomed by Sr.Amalorpavam, Secretary of our College, Dr.(Sr) Mary Josephine Rani, Principal , Dr.(Sr) Jayasanthi Vice-Principal and all the Staff and Students of the College.
Sr.Sumathi Head, Department of History introduced her to the gatherings. The Chief Guest of the day deciphered the rise of Nationalism among Indians and the role of Freedom Fighters who all sacrificed their life for freedom. She also described the role of Gandhiji and his call for DO OR DIE in his Quit India Speech that awakened the Youths to be united and organized as one for the same cause. After the Resource Person talk, Students from the Department of History gave a speech on the role of women freedom fighter to the freedom struggle in bilingual language, it was followed power point presentation and Video clippings that picturized the Nationalism. The Quit India Movement and its concepts were screened to the students. And finally the students took oath to fight against Corruption, Casetism, Poverty and Terrorism. They all vowed to work for a developed India by 2020.
