NATIONAL SEMINAR – “DIGITAL ECONOMY”

The department of commerce shift – II organized a National level Seminar on “Digital Economy” – on 16th August 2018 at college auditorium.

Inauguration of the seminar was done by Mr. Sundara Raj, Deputy Zonal Manager, Indian Bank, Vellore. The function began with the formal lighting of the “Kuthuvillaku” by the chief guest followed by the college secretary Rev. Sr. Amalorpavam, principal Rev, Sr. Dr. Regina Mary, vice principal Rev.Sr. Dr. Mary Sheila Susairaj and Dr. Auxilia Antony Head Department of Commerce.

Principal delivered her keynote address to the students on the importance of the cashless transactions and highlighted on the benefits of Digital Economy. Mr. Sundara Raj gave his inaugural talk on demonetization, transparency in business dealings under digitalization.

The other resource persons for the day were. Dr.Muthu kumar, coordinator, Department of Commerce PG, Kristu Jayanthi college, Bangalore, was introduced and welcomed by Ms.Lalith Priya M D, Asst professor of Commerce, Auxilium College.

 

Dr. S. Bulomine Regi, Assistant Professor of Commerce, St. Mary’s College (Autonomous), Thoothukudi, was introduced and welcomed by Ms.Valentine Usha, Asst professor of Commerce, Auxilium College.

Dr. S. Anthony Rahul Golden, Asst.Professor, Department of Commerce, St.Xavierr’s College (Autonomous), Palayamkottai, was introduced and welcomed by Ms.Sathya N, Asst professor of Commerce, Auxilium College.

Dr.MuthuKumar spoke on the role of micro finance and other banking institutions promoting financial inclusion in Digital Economy. He concluded with a note on the importance and development of our country through Digitalization.

Dr.Bilomine Regi took over the second session. She shared her ideas on techniques of curbing the black money menace, she also shared a video on the importance of payment of tax by the citizens of India.

Around 140 students from other colleges participated and presented their papers on Digital Economy. Three best presentations were awarded cash prizes.

3RD prize: SABIR – Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur &

GAYATHRI-  Adhiparasakthi College, Kalavai.

The session concluded with the Valedictory function, presided over by Dr.Anthony Rahul, he congratulated the participants and winners and distributed the certificates. The programme ended with the national anthem.
