NAAC Peer Team Visit

The conferring of A+ Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an Institutional score of 90 to 95% has indeed been a blessing of the Almighty during the 50th year of the establishment of the College. This honour is the crowning success of the relentless efforts of the Management and their fidelity to the educative mission of the Pioneers, the dedicated service of the teaching and non-teaching staff, the enthusiastic involvement of the students and the wholehearted cooperation of parents, past pupils, friends, benefactors and well-wishers.
The members of the NAAC Peer Team visited the College from 2nd to 5th of September 2003. A few excerpts from the report submitted at the Exit Meeting highlight the fidelity of the Institution to the founding charism.
“Over the past five decades of its existence, Auxilium College has rendered yeomen service to the cause of higher education in one of the most backward regions of Tamil Nadu. The unique feature of this College is that during the past 50 years it empowered girls coming from the most disadvantaged and economically and socially marginalized sections of the society by giving them access to higher education. This Institution believes in the all round formation of the students’ personality. In the course of its interaction with the parents and the alumnae, the Peer Team is happy to note that most of the girls joining this College were first generation learners with poor academic background but left the Institution with a sense of self-confidence and fulfillment.“

“During its existence of five decades, it crossed several milestones and today it is a premier institution of higher education. This is due to the fact that this College apart from giving its students good education, is also emphasizing the need for imbibing moral values, self-respect, human dignity, discipline and hard work in one’s life. The Peer Team noticed utmost sincerity, commitment and dedication of every constituent of this Institution – Management, Principal, Staff and Students.”

“The good academic inputs and the various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities have enabled the students of this College to perform well in the University examinations, sports and games and community oriented extension activities. The students have brought laurels to themselves and to the Institution by their accomplishments.”
“The College can take pride in what it has already achieved. The College is matured enough to seek ‘autonomy’ status. This will enable the College to function with greater flexibility.”
The Valuable suggestions offered by the Peer Team members were a tremendous source of inspiration to set in motion the determination of the faculty to pursue research studies. The interactions with them created a strong desire for achieving ‘Autonomy’ status.
