The Department of History arranged a webinar entitled Human Rights in association with the Department of Sociology and The Department of Tamil on December 10th, 2020 through Google Meet. For this webinar, Dr.Durai Ravikumar, Member of Parliament, Vilupuram Constituency, Tamil Nadu invited as the Resource person. The Resource Person Dr.Durai Ravikumar MP started his speech with the introduction of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. How Ambedkar worked for the rights of the voiceless people, and the importance of Article 14 and 15 of the Indian Constitution were delivered by him. He described why the human rights commission was established and the roles and functions of Nongovernmental organizations in human rights promotion. How the children especially the teenage girls are sexually and physically assaulted by others, even the sexual assaults faced by both boys and girls was explained by him.
