The Internal Quality Assurance cell of Auxilium College (Autonomous), Vellore organized a two days webinar on Outcome Based Education and Curriculum Development on 15 and 16 May 2020 in association with IQAC, Don Bosco College, Yelagiri Hills. The resource speakers of the sessions were Rev Dr ( Fr) Thaddeus SDB, Principal, Don Bosco Collge, Yelagiri Hills and Dr. Bernard D’Sami, Former IQAC coordinator , Head, Department of History (Rtd), Loyola College, Chennai.
Dr Fr Thaddeus gave a broader insight on Outcome Based Education with reference to the LOBE where he said that we decide the knowledge of the content. He brought in forward about the current I- Generation students requirements emphasizing on their understanding when to learn and where to learn with a graduate attribute aiming at the competency level. Father gave a very clear layout on the four basic requirements to be considered in Outcome Based Education which includes Assessment of Management plan, Knowledge, Employability and Community involved.
Dr.Bernard D’Sami in his session suggested the need of preparing PG to take up Vocation course and the curriculum for UG student should be generic. He also highlighted on the importance on the requirement of communication skill requirement for the students and suggested to provide languages for four semesters and added on to introduce their Programmes to the students and its scope at UG level. He also said that skill given to the students need not be specific it is mandatory to give them transferable skills. He also added on the importance of internship programme at UG level.
Around 150 faculties from various institutions all over India participated in the webinar and were benefited.
