Rangers Training Camp

87 Rangers participated in the training camp held on 19.10.2019-20.10.2019. The resource persons Dr. Fr. Thomas Mariaraj SDB LT(S), District Chief Commissioner, Don Bosco Scout District, Mr. Gunaseelan, Rovers Training Counsellor Don Bosco Scout District and Ms.K Anushya Senior Ranger, KasthuriBai and BharathiDasan Unit, Katpadi trained the rangers on the basics of Bharat Scouts and Guides. Various Sessions were conducted on History of Scouts and Guides Movement, Promise and Laws, Prayer Song and Flag Song, Motto, Guide Salute, Left Hand Shake, Good Turn Every day, Self-Awareness and Health, Patrols, PL, APL procedures, Flag Hoisting Ceremony, Games, Action Songs, First Aid, BP6, Knots, Power Point presentation on 14 Ideals of Rovers and Rangers and camp fire.
Indian Railway organised “Massive Shramdan” with a main focus on the plastic waste. Mr.Manikandan B., Assistant District Commissioner/ Rover, Central District, Southern Railway coordinated the event. 85 Rangers from Auxilium College participated in the Rally and cleaned the Katpadi Railway Station as a part of Swatchhata Hi Seva 2019. The Rangers were accompanied by Dr. Sabarmathi A., Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, Auxilium College. The Event was inaugurated by Dr. K. Amudhavalli ACMS/KPD and Mr.Ravindranath K., SMR/KPD. The Chief Guest Mr.Ravindranath K., SMR/KPD delivered a speech highlighting the importance and needof a plastic ban as one of the primary objectives to address the environmental hazards being created by the continuous use of plastics in the country. The Rally started at 3.00 pm from Scouts Den Katpadi towards Katpadi railway station. The Rangers walked on the platforms with pluck cards and banners to create awareness on the protection of our Mother Earth from the plastic waste. They went down to the railway tracks and cleaned the plastic waste. The event ended at 5.30 pm.
