DST – NIMAT PROJECT 2017-18

ENTREPRENEURSHIP AWARENESS CAMP ( 29.6.2017- 1-07-2017)

The Entrepreneurship Development cell presented three days ‘Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp’ on 29, 30 and 1st July 2017.  This mini project is funded and supported by Department of Science and Technology and NSTEDB, Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmadabad, Gujarat.  The main objective of this project is to create awareness among faculty and students of science about various facets of Entrepreneurship as an alter native career option and to highlight the merits of pursuing such an option.

The project took off with a grand inauguration and key note address delivered by Prof. AnilKumar, Head, E Cell, Incubation Cell, IPR Cell, Acharya Bangalore B School, Bangalore accompanied by Prof. C. Anitha, Basaviaha Institute of Management Studies, Bangalore.  The Convener,  Principal, Rev.  Sr. Dr.  Mary Josephine Rani, Vice Principal (Shift II) Rev. Sr.. Dr.  Mary Sheila Susairaj, Project Co-Coordinator Dr. Auxilia Antony, Head, Department of Commerce (Shift II) and members of the organizing committee were present.

With 65 students from Arts and Science Department, Prof.  Anil Kumar delivered a talk on Business Idea Generation and Business Module.  Activities like ‘Balloon Tower’ with the help of straws were done for the students.  The activities helped the students to learn about planning, organizing and managerial functions stimulating budding entrepreneurs to have a strong foundation in business.

Technical session was given by Prof. Anil kumar, followed by creativity and communication skills for better results in business handled by Prof. Anitha.

In connection with this, students were taken to ‘Naidu Hall’ , Ambur, as part of the industrial visit.
