Memorandum of Understanding with Brainswig Edutech Pvt.Ltd,Chennai on by Department of Business Administration

Department of Business Administration signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Brainswig Edutech Pvt.Ltd,Chennai on the 9th January 2019 for academic collaboration between the two institutions for conducting certificate courses on Data Analytics to enrich the calibre of students and faculty in research, training and professional skills. Dr.Dinesh Babu, Managing Director and Chairman, Brainswig Edutech Pvt.Ltd,Chennai was the resource person for the five day certificate course on R Programming and SPSS conducted from 9th to 13th January 2019. The participants included 51 II MBA students, 3 full time Ph.D research scholars , 2 M.Phil research scholars and 13 faculty from the Department.

TWO DAYS ORIENTATION FOR YRC VOLUNTEERS AT RED CROSS HEADQUATERS, CHENNAI.

            Youth Red Cross volunteers shift – II participated in two days orientation program at Red Cross Headquarters, Chennai on 05.01.2019 and 06.01.2019.

Day 1:

The program started at 10.00 am with an inaugural ceremony. Prof.A.KadharBasha former Principal of The New College, Chennai and Hon. Advisor Indian Red Cross Society, Tamil Nadu Branch, gave the inaugural speech and explained about the “Principles of Red Cross” and motivated the students to be volunteers of Red Cross.

            The students visited Daycare hospital, Physiotherapy department and Blood Bank and came to know the functions of Blood bank in detail. Blood screening was done to all the students and staff to identify the blood group and hemoglobin value. There was family counselling session given to the students by the counsellor of IRCS- TNB Ms.Karthiga.

The students also visited Regional Metrological department in the afternoon and understood the concepts of cyclone and disaster. More details about cyclones – how they have been located, how their speed and directions are identified and with that information how people are safeguarded – were explained to the students.

 Day 2:

The Camp started with beach cleaning at 6.00 AM. Then students had a brief demo session on Disaster management, Rescue operations during Disaster, First Aid and Fire and Safety the whole day.

Mr. M.S.M. Nasuraddin, Hon. General Secretary gave the valedictory address, encouraged and distributed the certificates.

            The program came to an end with the National Anthem.

Extension Activity – Health and Fine Arts Club

The club members of Health and Fine arts were taken to the Blind school, Vellore on 20.12.18 to celebrate Christmas. They shared their joy and happiness with them by singing and conducting games. Finally our students distributed chocolates, Biscuits, Fruits and also offered  an amount of  Rs.500 for their stationaries.

Pongal Celebration 2019

In our college Pongal celebration held on 08.01.2019 in indoor stadium. Our sec. Sr.Amalorpavam headed the celebration. Principal Dr. Sr. Regina Mary felicitated the chief guest. Dr. Sr.Jayashanthi and Dr.Sr.Mary Sheila susairaj vice Principals of shift I and II grace the occasion by their honourable presence. Dr.Kumari, head dept. Of  tamil welcomed  the august gathering. Prof. Mr. Inba Ezhilan, Asst.Prof. Dept. of tamil, Voorhees College was the chief guest of the day. The students performed traditional dances like karagam,Oyilatam, Parai, Silambatam,Gummi and also debate held on the topic pazhamai ilamaikku balama/ balaveenama? Pongal special speech given by Raksha III Physics. Dr.Ms.R.Preetha asst. Prof. Dept. of tamil proposed vote of thanks and the programe came to an end with national anthem.

Workshop on Corel Draw

Workshop on Corel Draw

Workshop on Corel Draw was conducted on 4.12.2018 as an association activity for the II M.Sc. Mathematics students. Corel Draw is most frequently and commonly used graphic designing tool in order to fit shapes, lines, graphs and other creations. The resource talk was given by Mr. P. Ranjith, Graphic Designer, Arun Graphics, Vellore.

Awareness on Food Industrial Safety by Department of Microbiology

The Department of Microbiology, Auxilium College (Autonomous) organized an international guest lecture on the topic “Awareness on food Industrial Safety” by Mr.Mohammed Iqbal kasim, Production Manager, Mama Sauce (factory for food products), Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the 11th December 2018. The students of the department were given a broader idea on the food safety measures to be followed in the food industries. Training session with a questionnaire was also given to improve students understanding on the role of Quality Controller in food industries.

Extension Activity by Department of Microbiology

The staff and students of the Department of Microbiology visited the WHEEL REHOBOTH home for children located in Radhakrishnan Nagar, Katpadi which accommodates nearly 100 children on the 20th December 2018 for celebrating with them the joy of Christmas. It was a blessed experience visiting the children and providing them with their basic needs.  The students of the Department felt the real meaning of Christmas by sharing with these young children the joy that can be spread and took an oath to render the possible service to these children in the future as well.



Extension Activity by Department of Mathematics

A  group of 28 students from I B.Sc Mathematics – Section C, 30 students from  I M.Sc Mathematics, 30 students from  II M.Sc Mathematics, along with 5 staff members visited Karunalayam, Orphanage for young children, Senur,Vellore on 22.12.18.

Events like singing competition, dance competition, quiz contest and racing events were conducted. Stationery items, Snacks, Biscuits, Chocolates and provisional items were distributed to the children. Everyone was delighted and the children were very happy. Both the staff and students felt fulfilled and were happy in spending time with children in the orphanage. Students learnt the act of  ”Caring and  Sharing”. It was an enriching experience.
