Report on Past Pupils’ Meet

The meeting started at 10.30 am with a prayer service led by Ms.Tamizhenthi D.,Assistant Professor of Physics. The prayer service began with a prayer songcentring God’s Mercy followed by theScripturereading and prayer.
Dr.Sabarmathi A.,Assistant Professor of Mathematics welcomed the gathering and read the report on past pupil meetings of the academic year 2017-2018.
The Principal Dr. Sr. A. Mary Josephine Rani, honoured the chief guests Ms.Sachukumari (1980 – 83), Head Mistress, Government Higher Secondary School,Asanampet, Madhanoor Block, Vellore, Dr.Sharmila C (1991 – 94), Professor, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, Chennai and Dr.Silvia (1992 – 95), Associate professor, Dept. of Physiology, CMC, Vellore,with gifts.
Dr. Sr. A. Mary Josephine Rani,addressed the past pupils highlighting the recent accomplishments of the college such as opening of high-tech gym, digital library and guest house. She motivated the past pupils to stay in touch with their alma mater and update the college regularly on their placements and designations, so that it is easier to maintain the record of the placements of past pupils.
Ms. Ganga introduced the chief guest andthe alumni of history department Ms.Sachukumari, Head Mistress, Government Higher Secondary School, Asanampet, Madhanoor Block, Vellore district.
Ms.Sachukumari delivered an inspiring speech highlighting her life experienceandhow the values she had learnt in Auxilium collegegreatly helped her to achieve her goals and deal with the obstacles in reaching them. She said she owed her identity as a head mistress who is known for her determination to make her students and colleagues speak in English, to Auxilium Collegewhere she wasmotivated tolearn and speak in English. She sang beautiful songs to the delight of the audience.
Ms. Vennila Santhanam, Asst. Professor of Computer Applications, introduced the chief guest, the alumnus of the department of Computer Science,Dr.Sharmila C., Awardee of the national award for best teacher from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
Dr.Sharmila C. delivered an inspirational speech on the simplicity and beauty of life. She added that optimistic approach to any situation will result in beauty and peace.
Ms. Uma Maheswari, Superintendent, After Care Home, Vellore and alumnus of the department of Chemistryintroduced the chief guest, Ms. Silvia Raja Kumari, past pupil or the Zoology Department andProfessor of Immunology, Christian Medical College.
Ms. Silvia extensively shared her learning experience and all the good things she receivedfrom Auxilium College. She explicated that the cooperation of the teaching staff perfectly moulded her for life.
Dr. Thenmozhi (1978 – 81), Head of the Dept. of Chemistry, DKM College donated Rs. 10,000/- to the dept. of Chemistry for the Merit Scholarship of the student.
The Province Delegate of the Past Pupil’s AssociationDr. (Sr.) Jayaceli addressed the Past Pupils and shared her joy on meeting all the past pupils and reminded them about Don Bosco’s message for them: “Stay United and Help One Another”, she further emphasised the value of family values that characterises the Salesian Past Pupils and their relationship with their institution.
The Auxilium College Delegate of the Past Pupil’s AssociationDr. (Sr.) Regina Mary addressed the gathering focussing being Auxilians, cling to our Blessed Mother and be helper like her in turn to the needy. She strongly convinced them the need to be connected with each other through social media and to contributegenerously to the alumni association, by initiating scholarshipfor deserving students.
The feedback session of the meet was very nostalgic and warmcheered up the gathering with the good old memories from the past. Some of the past pupilsexpressed their excitement in coming back to the college campus after many years; especially an alumnus of the 1974 batch Ms.Sumangali, a retired Head Mistressattended and gratefully shared her life experience asan a Past Pupil of Auxiliumcollege.
A fun-filled game was conducted to the past pupils and Dr. Sr. A. Mary Josephine Rani, the Principal of Auxilium College distributed prizes to the winners. The games were followed by a group photo of all the past pupils
Ms.Amalarathinam A., Assistant Professor of Mathematics delivered the vote of thanks.
The meet ended with the College Anthem, and all the past pupils had lunch with the sisters and teachers fondly recalling their memories and sharing their life experience outside Auxilium.
