All India Catholic University Federation (AICUF)

The All India Catholic University Federation is a movement of University students and is often indicated by the Acronym, AICUF.  In 1924, this movement was founded by Rev. Fr. Carty S.J. at St. Joseph’s College, Trichy  It spread its wings all over India and now it operates in 12 states of India.  In Tamil Nadu it functions in more than 25 Colleges.

AICUF is well knownfor its dynamic involvement in Social Issues. Young Women of our college empowered through this movement celebrateits life and vigour in Auxiliumalma mater for the past 60 years.

Aim and Objective

To analyze socially the various situation in India and Tamilnadu and to approach the society with social awareness

To be the voice of the voiceless for their rights

To create spirituality centered on human kindness within students

To prepare the students to respond to the social issues in today’s context

Dalits, Women, Adivasis, Refugees


College / University students with social harmony irrespective of caste, creed and who agree with the principles of AICUF


AICUF’s structure is geared to ensure its mass students movement character.  AICUF functions at the National, State, Regional and Unit levels.  The state is the primary decision making body in AICUF. The various states are linked at the national level as a members of a federation.

AICUF Activities

Developing personality and leadership quality for today’s youth, with the virtues like Love, Justice, Honesty, Truth and Gender Equality.
